Hope to see you there!

MEET GUCCI GIRL!

Sweet Gucci is 4-5 months old, weighs 35-40 lbs and is a gorgeous deep chocolate color. These pictures do not do her justice!

This girl was dumped at the shelter by a family that claimed that they found her. We found out later that she was actually the family's dog and they were moving...sigh.

Gucci is the nicest dog in the world. She is gentle and quiet. She gets along wonderfully with children. She likes to sleep under the covers:) She should be fine with other dogs as well.

Please consider giving Gucci a loving indoor forever home! Contact Allison: 901-240-9848 or Joan: 870-739-1145.

UPDATE ON SWEET HOWARD!

Remember hairless Howard(first pic)? Well, he is having a blast up North with his new foster family. This is what his new foster mom, Kelly, had to say:

" Hey there! I just wanted send some pics of Howie, my foster-puppy. He is such a gentle, sweet dog and he is such a great addition to our house. Howie enjoys playing with his babies, eating treats, going for walks on the path by my house, biting Kenya's ears, and being a snuggle-bug."

We wanted to thank Crystal in Arkansas for going the extra step to save this boy from the streets (literally). A big thanks to Kelly as well for allowing him to be a part of her family. We also have much gratitude for Nancy and Ruth for sponsoring Howie. We couldn't do any of this without doggy angels like all of you! We can't wait until he finds his forever home!

PLEASE HELP BILLY

Geez- could you find a cuter Pittie than this?! Billy came to our shelter as a stray from a neighboring town. He is a doll! No joke...he had a blast with a simple $1 toy (throwing it in the air, rolling around on his back, and yes...eventually making "clouds" on the ground with blue stuff inside the toy- if you have dogs, you probably know what we mean), Billy deserves a great home and has so much love to give. He is about 10-12 months old.

Billy gets along well with other dogs - and seems disinterested in cats. He is also crate trained.

Sadly - Billy has tested positive for heartworm. He needs a loving indoor foster home to go to for treatment. He has been waiting and waiting for some kind hearted soul to help him so that he can get better and move onto rescue or an adoptive home. We will pick up the vet expenses if you will just give him a chance at the life he deserves. It is heartbreaking to watch puppies grow into adults in our care because there are no foster homes...

Fostering can be a very rewarding experience - just see Kiani and Kade's update below. Fostering saves lives - please save Billy's!

Please help Billy - contact Joan, 870-739-1145, or Allison, 901-240-9848.

Thank you for caring!

UPDATE ON KIANI & KADE!

Look at Kiani and Kade! After being abandoned in a parking lot, spending months in a cage and undergoing a very difficult heartworm treatment, these two wonderful pups are healthy, happy and ready for their forever home. Kiani and Kade are a bonded pair and must go home together. Additionally, they require a fenced in yard and a home that will keep them inside as part of the family.

Here is the latest update from their foster mom:

The kids are doing well. Kiani got an OK check up from the doctor a few weeks back...she is all back to normal with regard to her blood count. She is still being weaned from the Prednisone. She is nearly there. They are both back to their weights prior to treatment. I just keep feeding them and loving them. They just keep loving to be inside in their own little pad with each other.

They don't like to be outside too much...on warmer days they roll around in the grass and play with the other four members of my pack. Kiani does not care much for the pack...she will tolerate the other dogs but she is much more inclined to only want to be around Kade alone. When the pack comes outside with the two...she waits by her door implying that she wants to sit inside and look out the window.

Kade is completely house trained and Kiani is nearly trained. As the steroids are decreasing...her ability to hold her urine is getting better. They are still two of the most loving dogs I have ever met. Kade is a big teddy bear and Kiani thinks she is human.

Thank you Melanie for taking such good care of these two - you are their savior!

UPDATED PICS OF GORGEOUS TUXEDO (TUX)!

This is gorgeous Tux! He is such a sweetheart- loves affection from people. Tux also adores running (which makes it difficult to take pictures- LOL). He plays well with females, but would rather the macho males stay at home :) He has been fine with mellow males (just wants to be the "top male"). This boy is a snuggler who wants to please. He would do best in an active home (joggers, etc.). He needs to find a new foster home by February 12th, so please give him a chance!

UPDATE ON LAUREL (AKA BELLA)!

Here's an update on sweet Laurel from her new mom:

"I just wanted to give you an update on Laurel who now is named Bella, she is doing great, she seems to have adjusted just fine and my boyfriend and I are training her she is very smart. I am thoroughly enjoying having her in my life and although it is so much more responsiblity than I had with just Maxmilian, she is worth every bit. Kathy"

We wanted to thank Stephanie and Brandon so much for taking Laurel in as a foster until she found her forever home! Without foster families, none of this would be possible! Laurel/Bella will begin heartworm treatment in a few weeks.

UPDATE ON DAISY

Sweet little Daisy came to our shelter after being trapped in someone's garage. The poor girl was so scared - she just huddled in her cage. The shelter is no place for scared dogs. Fortunately, Daisy has now found a wonderful foster home! Her foster mom, Robin, reports that she is coming out of her shell slowly. She LOVES the two other dogs in the home and has even made friends with the cat! Thank you Robin for giving this little girl a chance at the life she deserves. Interested in adopting Daisy? Contact Joan 870-739-1145/870-739-5412.

BIG FUN IN THE SNOW (WELL AT LEAST HERE IT'S SNOW)!

Ok so it didn't really snow much, but Howard, Ben, Leo, Trixie, and Johnny had a blast anyway. They romped and played for hours! We are happy to report that Howard is on his way to a new life tomorrow! Ben and Leo would love a home too (together hopefully). Johnny and Trixie are hoping for loving homes as well. We thought we'd share some pictures of these cuties!
