LATEST ARRIVALS: TOBY AND THOMAS

Here are 2 adorable brothers Toby (black and tan) and Thomas (tan). They are approximately 3 months old and very eager to find wonderful homes. They were abandoned under a tree in a busy area and would LOVE to have permanent homes. Please check out more pictures of each of them on the Petfinder website.

URGENT NEED FOR FOSTER HOME: IRIS AND PUPS

Please help Iris and her 5 puppies! Iris was left outside the shelter with her puppies yesterday (6/22/07). The puppies are about 2-3 weeks old. Iris is extremely thin (emaciated really- you can see her ribs and hip bones) and needs to get out of the shelter right away so she can get the attention she needs. She is not very happy about being here and has not eaten very much. She will wag her tail though. We feel she would do so much better in a foster home where she can get special attention (cooked rice and chicken or rice and hamburger may help tremendously) and know that she is safe. With mom not eating much, babies are at risk. Please- can you help them? We will get more pictures as soon as possible, we just didn't want to disturb them.

HELP THE 'REMAX PUPS'

This is the most adorable litter of 8! There are 4 girls (Daphney, Libby, Holly, and Ivy) and 4 boys (Ollie, Lewis, Odie, and Monty). They were found at the local Remax Real Estate office under a gazebo outside back on May 26th! Apparently the mother never came back for them and they were abandoned when they were 2 days old! In the meantime, these precious puppies have been in a foster home where they were bottle fed. Unfortunately, the foster home was unable to keep them and they were taken to the shelter a few days ago. We are desperately seeking permanent homes or at least foster homes for these puppies. Since they are only 4 weeks and 2 days old, they still need special feeding (milk replacement and puppy food softened, etc.). We would love to keep them together a few more weeks, but we understand that it is almost impossible to find fosters homes for puppies. We will consider splitting them up if absolutely necessary. Check the Petfinder.com website for individual pictures of these puppies. Please call Joan at 870-739-1145 if you can help in any way. Their medical bills are over $700 so far, so please consider donating if you are able (without their mommy they have had infections and have all had to be on antibiotics; replacement milk is also very expensive).

MEET AL

PLEASE HELP DEXTER FIND A HOME

Poor Dexter is not in the best shape. He was abandoned at his home. He is very timid, but obviously wants affection (wagged his tail throughout, especially when his head was stroked). Dexter refused to walk on the leash because he was so scared, so we apologize for the "not so great pictures". He is very thin and malnourished. He's also missing hair on his hind end and has a few sores. No dog deserves to be neglected like this. Some have said he looks like a Lab/Border Collie Mix- who knows, but I will certainly be adorable once someone takes care of me. Please consider adopting him or at least sponsoring him so he can receive medical treatment.

GREAT NEWS: KYLIE, JOEY, & DOUZY ARE BEING RESCUED

Thanks to Almost Home Rescue in Maine, all 3 of these adorable pups are being rescued! We also wanted to thank Teresa for taking these pups in while they recover from being spayed/neutered (sincerely, you are an angel!) so they can make their trip north! Please be a doggy angel and adopt or foster one of our many dogs!

SAD NEWS ABOUT TONI

We wanted to let everyone know that Toni has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Sadly, her little body was too weak to fight off several ailments (sarcoptic mange, intestinal parasites, and parvo virus). We sincerely appreciate those you who donated funds and wanted to let you know that the funds were directly paid to the Animal Hospital that tried to save her. At least she no longer suffers.

HELLO I'M AMY- PLEASE HELP ME

Hi everyone- I'm Amy! I recently had puppies and now I have no home! I came in with a collar so I belonged to someone at some point. I was very calm and gentle during the pictures and I obviously don't mind cats! Please save me as soon as possible!
