MEET CUDDLY KATIE!
This is Katie! She looks like she might be part Japanese Spitz, but we really don't know. She was found as a stray and would love to get out of the shelter. Would you consider fostering her until we can find either her owners or a permanent home? She wouldn't take up very much space!

MEET SHY (BUT PRECIOUS) DORA
This is Dora! We had hoped her owners would have come looking for her by now, but no luck. Dora is shy, but very sweet and gentle. She's even heartworm negative (YEAH!!!). She would LOVE to get out of the shelter even if it's just temporarily (until we can find her a forever home). Please call Joan at 870-739-1145 or Allison at 901-240-9848 if you can foster her.
MEET ADORABLE ABBY
This is adorable Abby. Abby is actually about 8 years old so as you can imagine she is devasted about being in the shelter. She is great with kids, other dogs, and cats; plus she is housetrained (however, being a bit older, she occasionally urinates in her sleep). Abby had a broken front leg (left) in the past which causes her nails on that foot to grow very quickly. These slight imperfections mean nothing to us...we think she is a love and deserves a wonderful forever home.

LOOKING FOR PAWS MEMBERS
PAWS (People for Animal Welfare Society) of Marion is looking for volunteers to join our group. We typically meet once a month, however due to critical needs right now, we are meeting twice a month. The next meeting is Monday, July 28th at 6:00 pm at Moka's Grill in West Memphis. If you would like to attend, please call Allison at 901-240-9848 or Lisa at 901-826-0292 (oh and you can eat dinner there as well- many of us do!). PAWS discusses critical needs of the Marion Shelter, fundraising ideas, and many other issues related to our sweet pups. We could use all the help we can get!
SADIE HAS FOUND HER NEW HOME!
Ok...admittedly, this posting is a few weeks late, but the news is still welcome! Sadie has found a wonderful home with a local couple (Patrick and Ashley) and their young puppy, Dozier. Her new owners report that she is doing very well. She gets along great with their other dog and her hair has almost grown in completely. Sadie is definitely a lucky girl!
VERY SAD NEWS ABOUT AJ
This morning we received the terrible news that AJ had passed away from complications during heartworm treatment. All of us volunteers are absolutely devasted by this news. We want to thank everyone who tried to help him. We do know that he was able to experience the love he deserved thanks to "Uncle Joe" who took him in when no one else would. If you would like to make a donation in memory of AJ to help save another heartworm positive dog, we would welcome any assistance. Please everyone, put your pups on heartworm preventative so that this won't happen to any other precious soul (you can get pills for around $10 a month). We are desperately seeking foster homes for our other heartworm positive dogs so that they can be treated as soon as possible. Many of our dogs have sponsor money available and the only thing they are waiting for is a foster home. Every day they wait, the worms are growing and causing further damage to their hearts. Call Allison at 901-240-9848 or Lisa at 901-826-0282 if you can help. AJ's long time buddy, Autumn, is still looking for a forever home.

CHECK OUT HALO WITH HIS NEW CANINE BUDDIES!
Halo is now living happily in Massachusetts! His foster parents loved him so much, they've decided to adopt him- Go Halo! We will provide updates as we receive them. If you have a Happy Tail to share about a pup from our shelter, please send us your pictures!
REMEMBER RUDY? HE'S DOING WONDERFULLY!
Remember Rudy? The picture with the man is from when he was at the shelter back in March. Just look how gorgeous he is now! His new owners absolutely adore him and report that he is doing very well. Rudy has even completed Clicker Training and will continue other training next month. Thanks for the update!

FRED & GINGER ARE BACK IN MARION...BRIEFLY
Fred and Ginger have completely finished with their heartworm treatment and arrived in Marion today, thanks to Kris who transported them from Cape Girardeau, Missouri. They will be staying with one of our volunteers until they leave up North next week. These lucky Beagles are going to a wonderful Beagle Rescue in Maine (thanks Chris) where they will find their forever homes. Bobbie...you are truly an angel- we've never met anyone like you! Other angels who made this possible include Susanna (who found the Rescue Group), Chris (who agreed to take them in) and Kris (who drove them here as mentioned previously). THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING THESE PRECIOUS BEAGLES!

QUICK UPDATE ON SWEET LOLLIPOP
Just wanted to update everyone on sweet Lollipop (sorry for the delay). She is doing fabulous with her new owners, Ted and Sonia, as well as her new "pack" (Woody, Abigail, and Daisy). Lolli could not be luckier...just look at their gorgeous backyard! She gets along with all her canine buddies and is adored by her new parents! She is one spoiled little girl (deserving of course)!
