GABBY FINDS A GREAT HOME TOO!

We are so excited that Gabby has found a wonderful home in Memphis with Christin and soon to be J.R.. Gabby (aka Jenny now) was a surprise Valentine's gift for Christin. She had been looking at Gabby on Petfinder for some time and her fiance, J.R., made it happen. J.R. rescued his dog, Forrest, so they were looking to save another dog and find a playmate for Forrest in the process (they have similar faces as you can see!). Thankfully, Gabby was the lucky one! She even gets to go to work with Christin- how great is that!? This update is from the night Gabby went to her new home! Thanks for adopting this sweetie! Oh and CONGRATULATIONS in advance on your wedding!

"Hi Allison, it was great to meet you and your husband. Thanks again for your efforts in keeping such a great surprise from me!

I am absolutely in love with Jenny already! I’m planning to take her to work tomorrow or Monday to show her off! I think she is the perfect fit for all of us. She’s calm and loving, yet so playful with Forrest. The minute we walked in the door last night, they started friendly wrestling/sniffing/playing together. We got such a kick out of it!"

UPDATE ON TRIXIE FROM CONNECTICUT!

Trixie made it north to her forever home in Connecticut with Walt and Linda. This is what her new parents had to say:

"Trixie made the trip in fine shape. She met her new sister Darla outside, they did the usual sniff and check type stuff and went to find all the toys. Darla has been showing her around and Trixie is happy to have met the cat too, they like to play hide and seek. She slept with us last night and she really is tired today as well, LOL. We expect things to normalize within the week. Linda is off for the next few days so as to help Trixie adjust to her new home. Thank you so much for this opportunity to adopt Trixie, she is a very welcome addition to our family."

Thank you so much for giving Trixie such a wonderful home!

UPDATED PICTURES OF STRIKING KING!

We just had to post some more pictures of King (aka Petey). He is absolutely striking in person (the camera does not capture his gorgeous brindle coat). This boy is a love too. He enjoys playing with other dogs and likes to sleep in the bed with his foster mom too! King's an all around great boy.

MEET ADORABLE SANDY!

This is precious Sandy! She was hit by a car in early January. Thankfully, she did not have any serious injuries. She was lucky to find a foster home after several weeks at the vet's office. Sandy is a very loving dog who just need some guidance. She is learning basic manners and has not had any accidents in her foster home for nearly 2 weeks. Sandy would do best in a home where someone can give her the affection she longs for (older children would be great- she's a bit jumpy for really young children- the girl in the picture is 9 years old). This pup wags her whole body when you come in! She is about 1 to 1 1/2 years old. Please give this sweetie a chance!

PAWS TEAMED UP WITH MEMPHIS PIT BULL SAFE HAVEN

We wanted to thank Memphis Pit Bull Safe Haven for inviting us to their adoption event on Valentine's Day. A big thanks to Hollywood Feed in Bartlett and all the volunteers who helped at that event. Even though none of our sweeties were adopted, we were very glad to be a part of it. King (aka Petey), Kora, and Dora attended with their "super foster mom", Terri. The other cutie, Gibbs, is available for adoption through Memphis Pit Bull Safe Haven. We have several other Pits in need of foster/permanent homes as well.

UPDATE FROM THE NORTH: CATHERINE AND CAMERON

This is a update on sweet Catherine and Cameron (now Mojo and Mia):

"Hi! Sorry it has taken me so long to email you. I just wanted to give you a quick update on Mojo and Mia. They are doing GREAT!!!! I am so happy we ended up with both, because they are very close. It hasn’t been easy and they can be a handful, but they are really sweet and loveable dogs. It took a few trips back and forth to the vets, but they finally came out with a clean bill of health after a few different medications.

We have invested in an invisible fence so they can be able to run and play in our yard. We are just starting to train them on this and first started with a house training portable device, which they picked up quickly. They are growing right on schedule he is 44 pounds and she is about 40 lbs. I attached two pictures. One was taken in November and the other one just the other day.

Hope all is well with you and your family. Thanks again for our puppies! Take care, Carol"

EMERGENCY FOSTERS NEEDED

HELP!!! We have 6 puppies (2 separate litters of 3 each) that are in immediate need of foster homes as their foster parent is likely going into the hospital and cannot keep them longer than this weekend. PLEASE...can anyone foster any of them?

The puppies include 3 Shepherd mixes: Lewis, Leah, and Lexie as well as 3 Border Collie mixes: Kelly, Kelsey, and Keely.

We also have several foster homes that are overloaded and could use some relief quickly. They took in several dogs that had no where to go, but cannot keep that many. Some of the sweeties needing homes are pictured below (there are many many more...). If you can help in any way, please contact Allison at 901-240-9848 or marionangels@yahoo.com

If you cannot foster, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to PAWS. We are able to save all of these precious dogs ONLY because of the generosity of people like you. Thanks again for everyone's support!

SCRAPPY NEEDS A MIRACLE...CAN YOU HELP?

Remember sweet Scrappy? He desperately needs help. Here is a description of this incredible boy (and his needs) from his foster mom, Julie:

"Scrappy is the sweetest dog! We believe him to be a 2-3 year old schnauzer/poodle mix. He is housetrained, great with kids and absolutely LOVES to go for rides in the car! He would love nothing more than to be adopted by a family where he can receive the love and attention he deserves.

Sadly, Scrappy was diagnosed with a genetic eye condition. He was born without tear glands. This went untreated for so long in his previous “home” that he has lost all vision in his right eye and part of the vision in the left. It is only a matter of time before he will go completely blind. We were thrilled to hear that there is a surgery available to help Scrappy and save his vision, but it is very expensive. The cost for the procedure (the doctor will route part of his salivary gland to his left eye and remove the non-functioning right eye) is 1800.00.

We know it is a lot of money, but Scrappy so deserves a chance at a good life. He has had such a rough start, but still manages to wag his tail and jump up in his foster mom’s arms for kisses. He also stands patiently while his eyes are treated several times a day with drops to help keep him comfortable. He is so grateful to finally have someone to take care of him! Please consider donating to Scrappy’s surgery fund. It really is his only hope…. "
Make a donation today to help Scrappy Doo!

So...if you can find it in your heart to help this guy, please let us know. If you can help by contributing to his fund, we accept Paypal as well as checks/money orders. Please be sure to indicate the donation is for Scrappy.
