NEW ARRIVALS: MITCHELL & MAURY

Mitchell is the adorable Aussie- mix pictured at the top (white with some gray/brown). He needs to see a vet because his skin looks irritated and they aren't sure if it's allergies or what! Please consider helping him- he's very friendly. Maury is a sweet little boy as well- probably a Shepherd-mix. He looks like a fur ball in person, and has the most beautiful eyes. A shelter is the worst place for pups, so please help them find forever homes!

MOMMA OF THE YEAR: CHESABELLE

Hi everyone! I'm Chesabelle! People think I'm either a Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix or a Labrador Retriever mix. Either way, I'm adorable! I recently had a litter of puppies. I arrived at the shelter around the same time as a poor lone puppy (Mandy). Mandy was not yet old enough to eat regular food, so I didn't mind nursing her. I think I should win an award- "Momma of the Year" sounds good to me! Really, all I want is a loving home to call my own. Please call Joan as soon as possible at 870-739-1145. You won't regret it! I will be absolutely gorgeous once I am bathed and eat a few more groceries (I've already gained much needed weight!).

STILL NEED FOSTER HOMES

WE CAN'T THANK EVERYONE ENOUGH FOR HELPING US FIND HOMES FOR ALL THE WONDERFUL DOGS! WE HAVE FOUND PERMANENT AND FOSTER HOMES FOR ALMOST ALL OF THE DOGS- YEAH!!! HOWEVER, WE STILL NEED FOSTER HOMES FOR SEVERAL OF THE "HEARTWORM TREATED" DOGS. UNFORTUNATELY, MORE DOGS, THE "NEW ARRIVALS", KEEP COMING IN, SO PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE FREQUENTLY (They are currently being housed in outside kennels due to the renovations soon to be underway- pictures will be posted soon).

ALL OF THE 6-PACK PUPS ADOPTED OR RESCUED!

WONDERFUL NEWS! Peyton (top left) has been adopted by the same couple that adopted his brothers, Charlie and Archie! They were fostering him and couldn't bear to split them up! Gracie (top right) and Layla (bottom) are on their way north to forever homes too! THANK YOU!

HAPPY ADOPTION TAILS: TOOTSIE, JACK, MOOSE

Pictured at top: Tootsie, bottom left: Jack, and bottom right: Simon (a.k.a. Moose) with their forever families! Thank you all for emailing pictures! It's so wonderful to see such love for our little angels!

HAPPY ADOPTION TAILS: LORI

This is another happy ending! Lori has found a wonderful foster home (likely to be her permanent home) up north! Lori's foster parents had already adopted another dog "Simon" (a.k.a. "Moose") from our shelter last year! The first picture shows Lori's arrival and the other two...well...she's just enjoying another day at the office! Thanks for giving Lori such a wonderful home!

GREAT NEWS: ARCHIE & CHARLIE ARE ADOPTED!

We just wanted to share the terrific news that Archie and Charlie were adopted together today to a wonderful couple in Memphis! YEAH!!! Layla is supposed to go to a rescue group up north real soon too (fingers crossed)! That leaves Peyton and Gracie still available for adoption! All of these adorable pups are super friendly and love attention! Please give them another look so we can have happy endings for all of them!

URGENT SITUATION

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN! THE SHELTER IS SET TO CLOSE ON APRIL 28th (THIS SATURDAY). We so desperately need foster homes for the following categories: VERY SHORT TERM- dogs that are going to rescue groups up north within the next 2 weeks; HEARTWORM TREATED DOGS- dogs that are currently undergoing heartworm treatment (either are at the vet right now or will be going before the end of the week) and require strict rest (leash walks only) for the next 4-6 weeks (some less time, some a little more- depends on when the treatment was started); REGULAR FOSTERS- dogs that have not yet been spoken for and need a little more time to find permanent homes (time period unknown, but rest assured, we will be doing everything we can to find homes).

WE APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE DURING THIS TIME AND SINCERELY APPRECIATE EVERYONE' S PATIENCE IN THIS MATTER. WE ARE VOLUNTEERS AND WE ARE TRYING SO HARD TO HELP THESE INNOCENT DOGS, SO PLEASE BEAR WITH US IF YOU ARE WAITING ON A RESPONSE (Call Joan at 870-739-1145). If you are unable to foster or adopt, please sponsor a particular dog to improve his/her chances of being rescued (we are trying to board as many as possible if they do not have homes by this weekend). THANKS SO MUCH!

HAPPY ADOPTION TAILS: OLIVIA

Thanks to Karyn and Jason, Olivia is going to have a wonderful life! These pictures were taken the first day with her new family (obviously she's settling in beautifully!). She even has a new canine buddy, Hunter! Thanks so much for your patience in waiting for your new arrival!

HAPPY ADOPTION TAILS: "CODY" a.k.a. "SAMMI"

Cody (aka Sammi) is enjoying his new family and new-found canine buddies! Thanks to Cody's family for giving him a chance!

GREAT NEWS: HOPE HAS A FOSTER

Thankfully, a wonderful couple in Memphis offered to foster Hope. They had a similar experience with their Aussie and has recovered beautifully. Hope has a long road to recover, but at least she can now receive the love and attention she needs. THANK YOU SO MUCH ANDY AND KELLY!

PLEASE CONSIDER FOSTERING HOPE'S SIBLINGS! WE URGENTLY NEED TO SPLIT THEM UP!

ANOTHER PAIR: JUSTINE AND TOBY

Just look at these adorable faces! Justine is just a young pup (maybe 5 months) and super friendly. Look closely at her eyes- beautiful huh! Toby is also very loving and affectionate. He appears to be a standard Daschund/mix???? and is approximately 10-12 months old. They were apparently abandoned in their backyard and brought in together today. No problem- surely someone will want them!
