PLEASE HELP THESE LONG TERM RESIDENTS!

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP SOME OF OUR LONG-TERM RESIDENTS! Many of these guys/gals have lived at the shelter for many months. Can you find it in your heart to help a canine creature this holiday season? Winter is approaching fast and many of them are having to live outside due to overcrowding. Look at their beautiful faces- don't they deserve love too? Please don't look the other way, you may be their last hope. More pictures are available in older Blog posts and on Petfinder.com (see link at bottom of page under "links" section). Call Joan at 870-739-1145 or Allison at 901-240-9848 if you can help by either fostering or adopting.

UPDATED PICS: PRECIOUS- OUT OF TIME!!!!

Precious is seriously out of time. She has been boarded at the vet for so many months. Her boarding cost at the vet alone is over $800!!! She needs a foster home as well as some sponsorship money to help cover her vet costs. It would be a travesty if she didn't make it out after all of this time. She is being posted on Rescue sites up North, but needs to get out of the vet's office NOW! Can you house her temporarily? Precious is very shy at first and would need to be allowed to warm slowly, especially to a man (very scared initially). She did wonderfully with the cat at the vet (we have more pictures that show the cat rubbing her face on Precious' face, but they were pretty dark). Please call Joan if you can help her at 870-739-1145 before it's too late!

MEET NEWBIE KAREN

What a doll Karen is! She is a beautiful dog, probably about 2 years old if we had to guess. Karen already knows how to sit and is a gentle dog. Once she gets cleaned up, she will be even more gorgeous!

ANOTHER NEWBIE: JAMES

Poor James was surrendered by his owner along with Sara. He is an adorable pup that just needs some more good life experiences (e.g., walking on a leash). He loves his buddy, Sara, so if they could be fostered together, he'd be in heaven (I know it's a long shot, but...).

MEET SWEET SARA!

This is sweet Sara! She was surrendered by her owner along with her canine buddy, James. Sara is such a sweet girl and needs a home immediately (or at least a foster home).

WOW! WHAT A CUTIE: MEET JOEY

Poor Joey somehow lost his way a few weeks ago and a nice man picked him up. The problem is, he could not find Joey's owner and was unable to keep him. If you know his owner or if you can foster/adopt him, please call Joan at 870-739-1145 right away!

YEAH!!! MABEL HAS FOUND A HOME!

Thanks to Kelly, who drove from St. Louis to help transport Mabel, she is going to meet her forever mom, Janet, in St. Louis and continue on to her forever home near Kansas City, Kansas! She will have several other fur buddies to play with (Husky, Malamute, Lhasa-mix...). What a wonderful dog and a deserving family! Thanks so much everyone for coordinating her rescue! We will post any new pictures of her at her new home if/when we receive them!

MEET NEWBIE MABEL

No one could say she isn't absolutely stunning! Mabel is young (approx. 2 years old) and very strong. She will need some basic obedience training and an owner that is informed about characteristics of the Alaskan Malamute or Husky (not 100% sure which breed she is due to her size). Please call Joan at 870-739-1145 to meet her!

IT NEVER ENDS...MEET ZELDA

Poor Zelda was literally dumped on a country road where she took shelter in an abandoned Church. It's so sad...she was hiding in the closet. Zelda is probably less than a year old (she has gorgeous white teeth) and is extremely strong and playful.
